Q: Is Claude Duet free with my Claude plan?

There is no separate price. During the research preview it is included in eligible Pro and Max plans and shares their usage limits, and background checks count toward those limits. See pricing details.

Q: How do I get Claude Duet access?

Join the waitlist on claude.com while signed in to a US Pro or Max account, then wait for an invitation. A paid plan alone does not unlock it, and joining does not guarantee a spot. Step-by-step: waitlist guide.

Q: Does Claude Duet work outside the US?

Not yet. The preview is limited to Pro and Max subscribers in the United States; Team, Enterprise and other countries have no date. We track changes on the availability page.

Q: Which apps does Claude Duet have?

Standalone apps for iPhone and Android, and on a computer you use it at claude.ai in the browser.

Q: Do I need to keep my phone or laptop on?

No. Duet works on its own cloud computer, so it keeps checking your connected apps and finishing tasks while your devices are off. Your phone only needs to be reachable for the morning brief and for approvals.

Q: Which model does Claude Duet use?

Duet runs on Opus 5.5, Anthropic's top general model as of the October 2026 launch.

Q: Is Claude Duet safe to connect to my email?

It asks before it sends a message, pays, signs a document or deletes anything. Anthropic says it never directly sees your passwords, logins happen inside a private cloud computer, and a new classifier guards against sharing sensitive information. How Claude Duet works

Most AI assistants are reactive: nothing happens until you type. Claude Duet flips that. It reads what is coming in across the apps you connect, decides what deserves your attention, prepares the next step, and only then pings you. It runs on Opus 5.5, and because the proactive agent lives in the cloud rather than on your device, your data passes through Anthropic's cloud processing.
