Claude Duet Connectors

Email and calendar

Gmail, Google Calendar and Drive: the core of the morning brief.

Work chat and docs

Slack and Notion for team threads, notes and project status.

Money and sales

QuickBooks, Stripe, Shopify and HubSpot for invoices, orders and deals.

A proactive agent is only as useful as what it can see. Claude Duet connectors are the apps it watches and works in, and Anthropic says it works with more than 6,000 connectors and plugins. It names eight on the product page: Gmail, Slack, Google Drive, QuickBooks, Stripe, Shopify, HubSpot and Notion.

This guide to Claude Duet connectors explains how they work, what the agent can realistically do in each of the headline apps, and how to connect them without handing over more access than you need.

Claude Duet integrations: how connectors work

Claude Duet connectors are not a separate catalog, and there is no Duet connector store. It uses the connectors and plugins already attached to your Claude account, the same ones Claude chat and Cowork use.

Carried over from Claude

Anthropic says memory, skills and apps from the Claude app are available in Duet from the first message. If Gmail is connected in Claude today, Duet can read it the day your invite arrives. There is nothing to re-link.

Permissions

Each connector asks for specific permissions when you add it, such as reading email, creating drafts or editing calendar events. Those permissions set the ceiling on what Duet can do in that app. On top of that, Duet's own rule applies: it cannot send, pay, sign or delete without your approval, even where a connector would technically allow it. See the safety guide.

Claude Duet with Gmail and Google Calendar

For most people these are the Claude Duet connectors that matter most, because they feed the morning brief.

Gmail

Duet reads new mail at each check-in, flags what needs a reply, drafts responses and holds them for your approval. It can also search history, for example to find every invoice a client has not paid.

Google Calendar

It spots conflicts, prepares for upcoming meetings and proposes times. Anthropic lists scheduling meetings as one of the larger jobs you can hand off.

Google Drive

Drive gives Duet documents to read and a place to put what it builds, such as a report, a sheet or a deck.

Claude Duet with Slack and Notion

Slack

Connected Slack lets Duet watch channels and direct messages for things that need you, summarize long threads you missed, and draft replies. Posting is outgoing communication, so it waits for approval.

Notion

Notion is useful as both a source and a destination: Duet can read project pages and task databases to know what is due, and write summaries or meeting notes back.

Claude Duet with QuickBooks, Stripe and Shopify

These are the Claude Duet connectors that make it useful for a small business, and the launch video leans on them: its fictional coffee company pulls data from point of sale, the online store, CRM, support, payroll and the bank.

QuickBooks

Find unpaid invoices, prepare reminder emails, and pull numbers into a weekly summary. Anthropic's FAQ explicitly lists finding unpaid invoices and preparing payroll for review.

Stripe

Watch for failed payments and disputes and include revenue in a daily dashboard. Refunds and payouts are payments, so they need your approval.

Shopify

Track orders and stock, flag problem orders and draft customer replies.

HubSpot

Keep an eye on deals that have gone quiet and draft follow-ups for your review.

Starter Claude Duet connectors setups by role

You do not need thousands of apps. Most people get a useful agent from three to five. These starter sets of Claude Duet connectors are a sensible first week for common situations.

Freelancer or consultant

Email, calendar and your invoicing tool. That covers client replies, meeting juggling and chasing late payments, which is where most solo operators lose hours. Add a document store once you want Duet to draft proposals or status reports.

Small shop or cafe owner

Email, calendar, your store platform and your accounting app, mirroring the launch demo. Ask for a daily dashboard on day three, once the agent has seen a few days of orders and invoices.

Manager in a busy team

Email, calendar, team chat and your notes or project tool. The win here is catching up: summaries of threads you missed and a ranked list of who is waiting on you. Remember that Duet is for personal Pro and Max accounts, so only connect work apps your employer allows you to use with a personal AI service.

Whichever set you pick, add one app at a time, and give each new one two or three days before judging it. The first brief after a connection is often noisy because everything in that app looks new. Claude Duet connectors settle down once the agent has a baseline of what normal looks like. If the brief gets worse after a new connection, you know exactly which one to tune or remove.

Connect apps to Claude Duet safely

Least privilege

Connect only what you want watched. Start with email and calendar, add business apps once the brief is useful, and prefer read-only access where a connector offers the choice.

Test mailbox

If you are cautious, connect a test Gmail account with a few fictional emails first and watch how Duet handles them. Our setup tutorial describes this practice run, and the use cases page shows what to try once you connect the real thing.
