Same Claude account; the app unlocks only after your invite.
Notifications
The brief and alerts arrive as push notifications.
Claude Duet is built phone-first, and the iPhone is where most early users will meet it. The Claude Duet iOS app is a standalone app from Anthropic, separate from the regular Claude app, and it is where the morning brief, alerts and approval buttons show up.
This guide covers how to find the official Claude Duet iOS app, sign in with your invite, set up notifications so the agent can actually reach you, and use voice to hand off tasks on the go.

Download the Claude Duet app on iPhone
Anthropic confirms a standalone Claude Duet iOS app for users who receive an invitation. You install it from the App Store like any other app.
App Store
Search the App Store for "Claude Duet". Installing the app does not grant access on its own; it opens only for accounts that have come off the waitlist.
Spot the official app
Check that the developer is Anthropic. The name "Duet" is shared with unrelated apps, including a third-party tool for controlling Claude Code agents from your phone. That app is not the Claude Duet iOS app and is not made by Anthropic.
Sign in to Claude Duet on iOS
Invite required
Sign in with the Claude account that received your invite. A Pro or Max subscription alone is not enough; the app stays locked until the invitation arrives.
Same Claude account
Duet uses your existing Claude login, and your memory, skills and connected apps carry over from the first message. Anything you do on the iPhone also appears on the web at claude.ai, because there is one continuous thread.
Claude Duet notifications on iPhone
A proactive agent that cannot notify you is just another chat app. When the Claude Duet iOS app asks for notification permission, allow it.
Allow alerts
If you dismissed the prompt, open Settings, then Notifications, then Claude Duet, and turn on Allow Notifications. Lock-screen and banner styles are the most useful, because the morning brief is designed to be read at a glance.
Focus modes
If you use a Work or Do Not Disturb focus, add Claude Duet to the allowed apps for the focus modes where you want alerts. Otherwise a brief can arrive silently and look like a missed alert.
Approving actions safely from your phone
Most approvals will happen on your phone, often in a hurry. A few habits keep that safe.
Open before you approve
A lock-screen preview shows a summary, not the full draft. Tap through and read the recipient, the amount and any attachment before you tap Send or Pay. It takes ten seconds and catches most mistakes.
Protect the phone itself
Anyone holding an unlocked phone can approve what the agent has prepared. Use Face ID or a passcode, and consider hiding notification previews on the lock screen if other people often see your phone. In Settings, under Notifications, you can set previews to show only when the phone is unlocked.
Say no freely
Declining costs nothing. If a draft looks off and you have no time to fix it, tap Not now and deal with it at a desk. The task stays in the thread.
Talk to Claude Duet by voice on iPhone
Voice messages
Anthropic says you can message Duet by text or voice. Voice is the faster way to hand off a task between meetings: describe the job, say what it must not touch, and put the phone away. Results come back in the thread, and anything that needs approval waits behind a button. For wording that works, see the prompt library.
